Hi,
I'm Hernán.

My work is to transform massive organizations through innovative technology and strategic design.

I currently serve as the Chief Innovation Officer at Intercorp Group, a $5B Peruvian conglomerate with a strong presence in education, healthcare, financial services, and retail. As the CIO, I am responsible for major innovation initiatives, including the digital transformation program for Intercorp’s 33 companies. I’m also the founder and director of La Victoria Lab – Intercorp’s in-house innovation shop, working in partnership with IDEO (more on that below).

I hold a B.A. from Universidad del Pacifico and an M.A. from New York University, where I did a tailor-made master’s degree in Strategic Digital Innovation, with Clay Shirky as my thesis advisor, at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

When I’m not working, I’m surfing off of Lima’s southern coast, writing and shooting experimental short films, and, more recently, learning about garden design. I live in Lima with my life partner and our little daughter.

Featured Projects

Most of my work, especially digital innovation, is highly sensitive due to its strategic nature, which is why I am only able to share the projects that are public.
